In 2006, Ed Morris became the youngest ever British driver to compete in one of the worlds most famous and challenging races; the ‘Le Mans 24 hour,’ driving a ‘P2 Courage’ prototype.
In the same year, and at just 18 years old, he was honoured by the ‘British Racing Drivers Club,’ becoming one of only twenty drivers to be invited to join their ‘Rising Star’ programme in that year. Ed has been acknowledged by his peers for his undoubted ability in creating the very best out of sometimes difficult situations and continues to produce podium positions, impressing all those around him.
Since starting to learn his race craft at the young age of 8, Ed has raced successfully through the ranks of the ‘British National Karting Championships.’ Moving from karting at 14 into the ‘British Junior Rally Cross Championship,‘ and winning the inaugural race at Croft circuit, he then progressed into the cut and thrust of the ’British Ginetta Sports Car Championship’ for twelve months in order to gain valuable circuit racing experience.
At 16, he was then given the opportunity to try his hand in a 3.5 litre ‘Jade’ prototype sports car sharing alongside car builder and seasoned racer Tony Sinclair, driving in the International ‘European Sports Car Challenge’ during 2005.
Following remarkable success in that series, which saw Ed on the podium at every race he entered, his management team decided that Ed’s future lay in the world of sports cars. A deal was struck for Ed to join the Belgian ‘G-Force’ team for an assault on the 2006 ‘World Sports Car Championship,’ driving their ’Judd’ powered ‘Courage LMP2.’ Following an amazing race debut at Istanbul in 2006, which saw Ed get the team its first ever podium finish, and all at just 17 years old.
During 2007, Ed has been experiencing success, racing in the ‘2007 FIA GT’ series throughout Europe. Ed’s continual professional attitude and his sheer determination and self belief, has kept him focused on becoming one of the worlds top sports car drivers.
